WASHINGTON — The National Cable Television Assn. has recruited an executive VP from the ranks of its members. David Krone, executive VP of government relations for AT&T Broadband & Internet Services, will join the trade org on Oct. 1.
Krone’s charter will comprise all aspects of the association, including general management, government, regulatory, industry and public affairs, as well as grassroots activities.
He joined AT&T earlier this year following its merger with Tele-Communications Inc., which he joined in 1994. As head of TCI’s Washington office, he oversaw the company’s congressional and FCC activities.
“David brings to NCTA an in-depth knowledge of our business and a wealth of experience working on cable regulatory matters at the federal, state and local level,” NCTA president Robert Sachs said. “He will be a valuable addition to the NCTA team and will contribute greatly to our industry in the years ahead.”
“As much as I will miss having David at AT&T, I know that he will serve NCTA exceedingly well, and I look forward to working with him in his new role,” AT&T Broadband president Leo Hindery added.
