How did you celebrate Alfred Hitchcock’s 100th birthday on Friday the 13th of August?
Parker Bros. did it with a special edition of its classic detective board game, themed entirely around Hitchcock films. Clue’s new look also comes in time to recognize the game’s own 50th anniversary.
In the new version, players must choose from murder suspects including Mother from “Psycho,” Melanie Daniels of “The Birds,” Michael Armstrong from “Torn Curtain” and Marnie Edgar of “Marnie” — instead of the game’s traditional characters Mr. Green, Miss Scarlett, Mrs. Peacock and Professor Plum.
Players will also wield weapons and travel through rooms taken from the set of signature Hitchcock films, including “Saboteur,” “The Man Who Knew Too Much” and “Frenzy.”
“The millions of Hitchcock buffs and legions of Clue enthusiasts can really sink their teeth into this film noir version of America’s most popular detective game,” said USAOPOLY (maker of Clue) CEO and prexy Dane Chapin.
The Alfred Hitchcock edition of Clue is available in stores nationwide.
