Edward S. Vance, a construction coordinator on the CBS series “JAG,” died April 10 of cancer at his Simi Valley home. He was 53.

Vance, a Minnesota native raised in Van Nuys, amassed an impressive list of credits in both feature films and TV, including “Patriot Games,” “The Babe,” “Basic Instinct,” “Back to the Future II,” “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” and “Jaws: The Revenge.”

His TV credits include the landmark miniseries “Roots,” “The Rockford Files,” “Quincy,” “Tales of the Golden Monkey,” “Battlestar Gallactica,” and most recently “JAG.”

In addition to his work as a construction coordinator, Vance was active in IATSE Local 44 where he served as both an executive board member and a trustee.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; three daughters and a son; a sister; and a niece and nephew.
