Edward L. (Jinx) Jeffers, a longtime location manager on such TV shows as “The Incredible Hulk,” died April 26 from cancer. He was 58.
He also worked on “Simon & Simon,” “Hardcastle and McCormick,” “Alien Nation” and most recently, “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.”
He is survived by two sisters and three nephews.
Hyman R. FaineHyman R. Faine, a labor executive with the American Guild of Musical Artists who helped establish the Management in the Arts program at UCLA, died April 8 in Los Angeles from pneumonia. He was 88.
Faine negotiated union contracts for artists and staff at the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Opera, and the New York City Ballet. He served 25 years as guild exec director. In 1970, he was appointed regents professor at the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. He later joined the regular faculty and established the management training program geared for nonprofit visual/performing arts.
He set up a comparable program at the Un. of Judaism in Los Angeles.
Faine is survived by his wife, two daughters, and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 5:45 p.m. May 25 in the Sculpture Garden on the UCLA campus.
