John Alexander has been upped to senior VP of the American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers.
Alexander will continue to coordinate membership operations in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta and San Juan and serve on the management boards for ASCAP’s Membership and Enterprises Business Units.
He joined ASCAP’s management team in 1997 and most recently acted as VP of membership. He helped recruit thousands of new ASCAP members, including Alanis Morissette and the Goo Goo Dolls.

Prior to his work with ASCAP, Alexander was exec VP of MCA Music Publishing. He was also a member of the Canadian band Octavian.
