CANNES — Blue Rider Pictures, which is selling Minnie Driver and Kate Driver’s production “Slow Burn” for foreign, recently optioned Ehren Kruger’s script “Mythic.”

The pic is the story of a big-city fire chief who moves to a remote Alaska fishing village and must battle a highly intelligent raptor-like predator whose habitat has been disturbed by an oil-drilling operation.

Kruger penned “Arlington Road” and “Reindeer Games.” Pic, which has no director or cast attached yet, is slated to shoot in the fall.

Blue Rider has been pushing “Slow Burn,” which stars Minnie Driver, James Spader, Josh Brolin and Stuart Wilson. The completed pic is a thriller about a woman, three men and a strongbox of stolen diamonds.

The company has already finalized deals with Highlight in Germany, Manga in Spain, LedaFilms in Latin America and Best Films in Poland.

Blue Rider also recently completed “Cord,” starring Daryl Hannah, Jennifer Tilly and Vincent Gallo under Sidney Furie’s helm. Trimark is handling worldwide rights to the pic.

Other pics in the Blue Rider fold include “My Five Wives,” starring Rodney Dangerfield under Furie’s direction; “Alien Raiders,” a sci-fi drama being helmed by Oley Sassone; and “Kids World,” a “Home Alone”-style comedy to be directed by Dale Bradley in New Zealand.
