NEW YORK — The cast of the upcoming Lauren Bacall starrer “Waiting in the Wings” continues to firm up, with a deal inked for Rosemary Harris and one imminent for thesp Anna Manahan.
Legiter centers on a group of elderly actresses living in a retirement home.
A Tony winner for work in the original Broadway production of “The Lion in Winter,” Harris has starred in such pics as “Tom and Viv,” “Hamlet” and “Looking for Richard.” She most recently appeared on Broadway in “A Delicate Balance” and “An Inspector Calls.”
A deal is reportedly close for Manahan, who burst onto Broadway two seasons ago in “The Beauty Queen of Leenane,” winning a Tony for her work. She also appeared in the London productions of “Lovers” and “The Plough and the Stars.” She received a Tony nomination for her work in “Lovers” and an Olivier nod for “Plough.”
Produced by Alexander H. Cohen, Chase Mishkin, Leonard Soloway and Steven Levy, “Waiting” will bow on Broadway in mid-December.
Harris is repped by the William Morris Agency’s Johnnie Planco in New York.
