Rogue captures Grier and Hightower pitch

The Zucker Bros. will produce the comedy “Booga Bear” for Rogue Pictures, the genre division of October Films.

Pic, which follows the misadventures of a superficial executive and his search for love, is based on a pitch by comedians David Alan Grier and Tim Hightower.

David Zucker, Jerry Zucker and Gil Netter will produce the pic, which they, Grier and Hightower pitched to Rogue VPs Patrick Gunn and Matt Wall.

“We are thrilled to be expanding Rogue’s presence in the comedy arena by bringing David and Tim’s twisted ideas of romance to the big screen,” Wall said.

In “Booga,” the exec dates a number of supermodel types who break his heart. Thus, he sets about trying to find an extremely ugly woman in the hope that it will work out.

Writer/actor Grier starred in the TV series “In Living Color,” while his pic acting credits include “Boomerang” and “Jumanji.” Hightower’s writing credits include “Mad TV, “Malcolm and Eddie” and “Damon.”

UTA and Industry Entertainment’s Katie Mason negotiated for Grier, and APA’s Jim Kellem repped Hightower.
