HOLLYWOOD — Paul Walker, whose acting credits include this year’s back-to-back teen hits “Varsity Blues” and “She’s All That,” is close to a deal to star in New Regency’s youth-oriented thriller “Squelch.”
Walker joins Leelee Sobieski and Steve Zahn in the John Dahl-helmed pic about three college students on a treacherous road trip. The trio run afoul of a deranged trucker after they play a prank on their CB radio.
Regency topper Arnon Milchan and Chris Moore are producing the $20 million pic, which was scripted by Clay Tarver and J.J. Abrams.
Walker’s previous credits include “Meet the Deedles,” “Pleasantville,” “Brokedown Palace” and the upcoming “Skulls.”
