‘Waiting Game’ played by Seventh Art in U.S.

Scribe Liotti will also helm pic

Seventh Art Releasing has picked up North American rights to writer-director Ken Liotti’s “The Waiting Game,” an ensemble comedy that chronicles the misadventures of a group of aspiring performers.

A tortured artist, femme fatale, ego-maniac, gay dancer, supermodel wannabe and a sexually frustrated busboy all wait tables at a Gotham eatery while waiting for their big breaks.

Liotti, who makes his helming debut on the project, also wrote and produced the pic which he based on his days as a New York bartender. Mirjam Goldberg also served as producer.

Pic stars Will Arnett, Terumi Mathews, Dwight Ewell, Eddie Malavarca, Taylor Stanley and Daniel Riordan. Seventh Art plans a January theatrical release.

The distrib, which announced a distribution deal earlier this week to supply new Netcaster MediaTrip.com with 25 pics, will include “The Waiting Game” in that package.

Partial to documentaries, other Seventh Art releases have included the “The Farm: Angola, USA” and Oscar-winner “The Long Way Home.”
