Trio jumps in skydiving action pic

Baldwin, Berenger, Rodman starring in 'Cutaway'

Tom Berenger, Stephen Baldwin and Dennis Rodman will take to the skies in Cutting Edge Entertainment’s skydiving action thriller, “Cutaway.”

Guy Manos, a world championship skydiver who served as skydiving unit director on “Drop Zone” and “Eraser,” will direct from a script he co-wrote with his brother Greg.

Pic will be produced by Cutting Edge partners Adam Stone and David C. Glasser, while aerial production company Golden ParaShoot’s Craig Fronk and Jeff Jones will co-produce. H. Charles George and Sam Blount will exec produce.

Pic tells the story of a U.S. customs agent (Baldwin) who goes deep cover into the world of skydiving, where drug smugglers (Berenger and Rodman) use parachutes to sneak their illegal shipments into Miami.

“We got involved in this project because of the considerable worldwide interest in action films involving extreme sports,” said Stone.

Production begins in Miami in late October, and Cutting Edge will handle the pic’s international distribution.

Berenger can be next be seen in MGM’s “One Man’s Hero” and he completed roles in Showtime’s “In the Company of Spies,” Miramax’s “Takedown” and Universal’s “Outpost.”

Baldwin next appears in U’s “The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas” and recently wrapped Martin Bregman’s “Table One.” Rodman stars in Columbia’s imminent opener “Simon Sez.”

Berenger’s deal was negotiated by CAA and attorneys Ira Schreck and Joe J. Dapello of Schreck, Rose & Dapello. Baldwin was repped by ICM, manager Pat Reaves and attorney Schreck. Rodman’s deal was negotiated by ICM and attorney Dave Feldman of Bloom, Hergott, Diemer & Klein.
