Bruce McGill will join Will Smith, Matt Damon and Charlize Theron in Robert Redford’s “The Legend of Bagger Vance.”

McGill takes on the role of a devastated war hero who returns home and attempts to revive his championship golf game. McGill is currently onscreen opposite Jon Voight in “A Dog of Flanders” and is working on Michael Mann’s “The Insider,” about a tobacco company whistle-blower. He is repped by Tim Stone of Stone Manners.

Emmy- and Tony-award winner Hal Holbrook has joined the cast of Fox 2000’s “Navy Diver” starring Robert De Niro and Cuba Gooding Jr.

George Tillman Jr. directs the pic about the first African American Navy diver. Holbrook will play a commanding officer of the Navy dive school.

Holbrook, who has had a long career on the stage and both the small and big screens, has appeared in 1998’s “Hush” and 1993’s “The Firm.” He is repped by Joe Rice at Abrams Artists Agency.

Paul Sorvino joins Kathleen Turner in “The Amati Girls,” the Triple Axel Prods. drama about four adult sisters and their recently widowed mother.

Sorvino, who recently made his helming debut on Showtime’s “That Championship Season,” has appeared in numerous films including “Bulworth,” “Nixon,” and “Goodfellas.” Sorvino also starred in NBC’s “Law and Order.” His perf in the stage version of “Championship” earned him a Tony nod and the New York Drama Critics Award for best actor.

Alison Lohman will join Albert Finney and Bridget Fonda in “Delivering Milo” for director Nick Castle (“Dennis the Menace”) and exec producer Wim Wenders.

Lohman, who appeared in Columbia’s “Thirteenth Floor,” also has a recurring role on Spelling’s “Safe Harbor” for the WB. She is repped by Michael Greenwald and Neil Bagg at Don Buchwald & Associates.
