Will Patton has been cast opposite Denzel Washington in the Jerry Bruckheimer/Touchstone Pictures’ film “Remember the Titans.”
Patton will play the white high school football coach who is forced to relinquish his position to Washington when the team becomes integrated.
Nicole Ari Parker (“200 Cigarettes”) is in talks to play Washington’s wife.
Patton, currently lensing Bruckheimer’s “Gone in 60 Seconds,” appears in the upcoming Buena Vista Pictures’ “Breakfast of Champions” and the indie films “Jesus’ Son” and “Trixie.”
Parker, whose film credits also include “Boogie Nights” and “The Adventures of Sebastian Cole,” appears in the Martin Lawrence comedy “Blue Streak” opening in theaters this weekend. The actress has several other upcoming indie projects including “Mute Love,” “Loving Jezebel” and “Spark.” She will appear in the upcoming CBS vidpic “The Loretta Claiborne Story” opposite Camryn Manheim and Kimberly Elise, skedded to air early next year.
Parker is repped by Stephen Hirsh and Lorrie Bartlett at the Gersh Agency and manager Davien Littlefield.
Patton’s deal was brokered by his agent Sandi Dudek at Paradigm and manager Kate Edwards.
