11th annual film fest giving thesp Crain Award

Annette Bening will reign as desert queen in January during the 11th annual Palm Springs Intl. Film Festival, when she will collect its highest honor, the Charles A. Crain Desert Palm Award.

The gala awards presentation will be held on Jan. 15 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

“We are privileged to present this award to Annette Bening,” said exec director Craig Prater. “Her extraordinary talents both on the screen and stage have distinguished her as one of the industry’s most radiant actresses.”

Bening’s upcoming projects include the Mike Nichols pic “What Planet Are You From?,” which bows in March.
