Freedom to ring in L.A.

Fest features democratic themes

The second annual Freedom Film Festival, the American Cinema Foundation’s showcase of films from Central and Eastern Europe, kicks off its L.A. engagement Friday, a week after its Berlin gig.

Centered on themes of democracy and freedom, it features movies from the region’s prestigious Karlovy Vary Intl. Film Festival.
