BERLIN — Deutsche Columbia TriStar Film production GmbH has started production on “Anatomie,” the company’s first feature film, managing director Andrea Willson announced Tuesday in Munich.
Two additional German-lingo film projects, “Was Tun, Wenn’s Brennt” and “Der Letzte Mann,” are slated to begin production this year.
“Anatomie,” a co-production with Oscar-nommed producers Jakob Claussen and Thomas Woebke, starts lensing in Munich and Heidelberg on April 7. Austrian helmer Stefan Ruzowitzky (“Die Siebtelbauern”), who wrote the screenplay, will direct the film. “Anatomie” stars Franka Potente (“Lola Rennt”) as a medical student investigating mysterious doings at her university.
“Was Tun, Wenn’s Brennt,” another co-production with Claussen and Woebke, begins shooting in Berlin later this year. Pic tells the story of a group of former radicals confronted with their past when a bomb planted 17 years ago explodes in the abandoned mansion of a former U.S. general.
Romantic comedy “Der “Letzte Mann” (working title) is also slated to start shooting in Berlin this year.
Deutsche Columbia TriStar has 12 projects in development and plans to produce another three feature films in the year 2000.
