Keith Le Goy has been appointed senior VP of European distribution at Columbia TriStar Intl. TV. He was previously VP sales at Walt Disney TV Intl.


Igor Shabdurasulov, former director general of Russia’s Channel 1 ORT (Public Russian Television), has been sent back to the Kremlin after heading up the org for a year. He will be replaced by Konstantin Ernst, chief producer at ORT, after confirmation at the October board meeting.


Astral Communications has set up a marketing operation for its broadcasting subsid, the Astral Broadcasting Group.

The department’s task will be to maximize the advertising, merchandising and sponsorship potential of the Montreal-based communications company’s French-lingo specialty TV networks as it launches two services, Canal Histoire and Canal Fiction. Ad exec Releault Poliquin will head the operation.


Optus Television programming head of 12 months Kristin Marlow has ankled the Oz feevee service to become programming director at Izzy Asper’s NZ network TV3.

Previously programming topper with free-to-air Network 10, Marlow was the driving force behind Optus TV’s general entertainment channel Oh!, which is due to launch this week beside specialist wildlife entertainment channel Animal Planet.

Stepping up to the plate in her absence is former head of channels Paddy Conroy.
