Michael Clements is joining the WB Network in a newly created dual role as veepee of current programming and the net’s inhouse Michigan J. Frog Prods.
Clements, most recently director of comedy development at Fox Broadcasting, will supervise all creative aspects of the WB’s primetime lineup. He’ll also develop drama and comedy programs through Michigan J. Frog.
In both positions, Clements will report to WB entertainment prexy Susanne Daniels.
“Michael’s proven ability to develop and maintain successful comedy series makes him an extremely valuable addition to our team,” Daniels said. “His experience and track record at Fox is precisely what we were looking for.”
Clements had been with Fox since October 1992. As director of comedy development, he was part of a creative team which helped shape “That ’70s Show” and this fall’s “Action” and “Malcolm in the Middle.”
Previously, he was manager of current programming for Fox, supervising production of “The Simpsons,” “King of the Hill,” “Between Brothers” and other Fox programs.
