Robyn Dunn and Wayne Roche have been promoted to Managing Directors of U.S. Sales at Variety. In their shared role, Dunn and Roche will oversee all domestic advertising sales for Variety and Daily Variety’s Hollywood and Gotham editions.

Roche will work out of Variety’s Gotham office while Dunn will be headquartered in Los Angeles. The pair will report to Variety U.S. Publishing Director Charlie Koones.

“We are fortunate to have strong, seasoned execs in Robyn and Wayne leading our sales efforts,” Koones said. “They offer our client base experience and professionalism that just can’t be matched.” Roche and Dunn have been with Variety for six years and five years, respectively. Dunn was most recently Western Sales Director while Roche had the same responsibilities on the East Coast.

The pair will replace Mark Smelzer, who ankled to become VP of Entertainment at Latitude 90.

In other recent appointments, Koones announced that Alicia Cachuela has been upped to Associate Director — West Coast, overseeing film, television and new media advertising. Lezle Stein, formerly of Billboard, has been appointed Director of Music Advertising, and Amy Cimetta has joined Variety from B.D. Fox and Friends as a sales exec covering talent agencies and networks.
