Stein tapped VP at HIT

Also, Lee Hunt ups Mergentime to exec director

HIT Entertainment, a U.K.-based producer-distributor of children’s and natural history programming, has tapped Holly Stein as VP of consumer products for the company’s newly established U.S. licensing and merchandising division.

Company’s U.S. consumer products division hopes to capitalize on the growing stable of HIT-owned children’s TV properties that now have solid placement in the U.S. These include “Kipper,” which airs on Nickelodeon, and “The Three Friends … and Jerry,” which airs on Fox Family Channel.

Stein joins the company from King World Prods., where she was VP, sales and marketing, for the merchandising arm of the syndie giant. Prior to that, she spent seven years at Warner Bros. consumer products group.

Lee Hunt Associates, an entertainment brand specialist, is promoting Andrea Mergentime to executive director, global development.

Mergentime will be responsible for LHA’s strategic positioning, promotion activities and communications, as well as expanding the company’s client base, both nationally and internationally. She will report directly to Lee Hunt, founder and president of LHA.

Prior to joining LHA, Mergentime was sales exec and associate producer at America Live Entertainment in New York, developing contracts with French TV, casting personalities for British TV and organizing celebrity promotions.
