Lawrence Meyers is ankling his position as president of international distribution for Seagal-Nasso Films, a partnership between action star Steven Seagal and producer Julius Nasso.
Meyers, who joined the company just over a year ago, is planning to move into distrib consulting and will announce his plans shortly.
Seagal-Nasso is developing a number of action vehicles for Seagal, including “Blood on the Moon” and “Genghis Khan.” The next pic expected to go into production, however, is the action-adventure “Cruise,” written by Guy Alimo, about a missile crisis in the Amazon.
Company has thus far produced several lower-budget pics, including “Not Even the Trees” and “Prince of Central Park.”
“Larry’s leaving, he was great, and we’re going to miss him,” Seagal-Nasso prexy Philip Goldfine told Daily Variety.
A vet of the foreign distribution scene, Meyers has worked for Lorimar Pictures and New World Pictures, and has run several of his own sales/production banners.
