Matthews Studio Group on Monday said it has inked a long-term outsourcing agreement with Raleigh Studios to become the production facility’s exclusive provider of filmmaking equipment.

As part of the deal, Burbank-based Matthews will rent lighting, grip, transportation, generators, camera equipment, video and audio equipment to productions shooting at Raleigh’s two lots — in Hollywood and Manhattan Beach. Raleigh has 26 soundstages ranging from 4,000 to 32,000 square feet.

Matthews’ equipment and support services will be located on the studio lots, and will offer administrative support from Matthews arms Hollywood Rental, Four Star Lighting, Duke City Video and ESS/Olesen operations.

Mark A. Rosenthal, chief operating officer and executive veep of Raleigh Studios, said the deal “enables us to additionally provide virtually all the equipment and services of a major studio, while maintaining the personalized service and autonomous environment our clients have come to enjoy on our independent lots.”

In addition to the new alliance, Anil Sharma, chief financial officer of Raleigh Enterprises, will be joining the board of directors of ShowbizMart.com, Matthews’ previously announced online production service Web site.
