Latin satcaster Sky refills exec ranks

Search still on for CEO

MIAMI — Latin American satcaster Sky Multi-Country Partners has hired Carolina Guevara Lightcap as VP of sales and marketing and Juan Pablo Cappello as general counsel and senior vice president, legal and business affairs.

Guevara replaces Miro Copic, one of several top-level execs to have left the Sky Latam operations this year.

Guevara joins Sky from Fox, where she worked six years, most recently as executive director of marketing for Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment Latin America.

She will handle commercial and promotional plans for the Sky service in Latin America, except for Brazil and Mexico. Sky Multi-Country Partners is responsible for Chile and Colombia, where it is already operating, and Argentina, where it will launch shortly. Guevara also oversees the Miami-based marketing and public relations staff.

Sky Multi-Country Partners continues to search for a replacement for CEO Mark Goldman, who left at the end of July. Chief financial officer David Torkington remains acting CEO for now.

Sky Multi-Country Partners is the alliance of News Corp., Liberty Media Intl., Brazil’s Globo and Mexico’s Televisa. Globo and Televisa are majority owners of the Brazilian and Mexican platforms, respectively, and therefore operate those companies independently.

Sky Mexico is also searching for a new head. Jorge Alvarez Hoth continues to oversee the operation, but he has been promoted to a senior corporate post at Televisa.
