Imax Corp. has tapped Mary Pat Ryan for the newly created post of executive veep of its large-format film Imax division and prexy of its network group.
Based in New York, Ryan will oversee the development of the network group, which oversees the operation of Imax’s 195 theaters in 25 countries. She will have responsibility for all areas of the division, including brand marketing and customer service.
She also will help in the development of the Imax brand.
“We have been looking for the right person to augment our senior management team and to lead our network group,” said Imax co-chairmen and co-CEOs Bradley Wechsler and Richard Gelfond in a statement.
Ryan most recently served as senior veep of marketing with cabler Lifetime Entertainment Services, where she was responsible for the Lifetime TV for Women and the Lifetime Movie Network brands.
Before that, she worked with U.S. Satellite Broadcasting as executive veep of marketing and programming. She was also executive VP and director of client services at Draft Worldwide.
