Kurt Albrecht has been named senior veep and partner at animation production house Hyperion Studio.
Albrecht will oversee daily operations of the company’s TV and homevid projects, including exec-producing Hyperion’s next feature, “Two Gentleman Sharing,” which starts shooting in June. The studio also produces the series “Life with Louie” for Fox and “Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child” for HBO.
Through Jambalaya Studio, Hyperion’s recent pact with animator Bruce Smith (“Space Jam,”), Albrecht will also be involved in the development of multicultural TV and Internet animation.
“Kurt has quickly mastered every aspect of running an independent company, and that’s an increasingly complicated task these days,” Hyperion co-founder and prexy Tom Wilhite said.
First teaming with Hyperion in 1995 as director of production, Albrecht was also co-producer of the Miramax pic “Playing by Heart.”
