Exec lead on 'Little'

Lori Goldklang Furie has been promoted to senior veep, production, for Columbia Pictures.

Furie, the lead executive for Columbia Pictures’ upcoming Christmas movie “Stuart Little,” has been a production exec with the studio since 1993.

“Lori is an enormously talented executive whose judgment and excellent relationships with talent have been a consistent asset to the studio,” said Columbia Pictures prexy Amy Pascal.

Furie is shepherding “American Neurotic,” being developed as a vehicle for Adam Sandler; “I Dream of Jeannie,” based on the TV show; “Girls,” for Andy Tennant to direct; and a feature film version of the comic strip “Dilbert.”

Furie began her film career in the production department of Warner Bros. Prior to that, she was involved in artist management in the music business.

In addition to “Stuart Little,” Furie was a production exec on such Columbia pics as “Cruel Intentions,” “Fly Away Home,” “Fools Rush In” and “The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland.”
