Vanity Fair publisher Mitchell Fox has been upped to Conde Nast senior VP in charge of corporate sales. Fox replaces Susan Blank, who left in late September to become the publisher of Mirabella.
“During his decade with Conde Nast, Mitch has demonstrated extraordinary leadership,” said Conde Nast president and CEO Steve Florio. “He knows our business, and he is a strong manager — which makes him a natural fit for corporate sales.”
Before joining Vanity Fair, Fox spent five years as publisher of Details. Vanity Fair is coming off its most bullish advertising year to date, with their ad page count totaling 1,809.
While Blank reported to former exec veep Catherine Viscardi Johnston, who ankled the company last week, Fox will report directly to Florio.
A Conde Nast spokesman said a replacement for Fox at Vanity Fair will come within the next week.
