CTW promotes three

Cugliari, Harvey, Madell take new posts

NEW YORK — Children’s Television Workshop announced this week a cluster of key exec promotions.

Anna Maria Cugliari was promoted to senior VP of strategic marketing and brand management; Jerry Harvey was upped to senior VP of human resources; and Rob Madell was named group VP and general manager of interactive technologies.

Appointments come four weeks after former New York Museum of Television and Radio chief financial officer Melvin Ming was tapped exec VP of finance and administration. Ming started Monday.

Cugliari, who last year ankled as senior VP of the Ad Council to join CTW, will add responsibility for securing corporate sponsorships, developing new brands and reinforcing the brand positioning of all CTW media products, including “Sesame Street,” to her duties.

“(Cugliari’s) contributions have been instrumental in building and branding ‘Sesame Street’ and positioning the Workshop in a dynamic market. Under her leadership we have secured three new corporate sponsors for ‘Sesame Street’s’ 31st season,” said exec VP of marketing and communications Sherrie Rollins Westin, to whom Cugliari will report.

Both Harvey, who joined CTW in 1996 from Southcorp Intl., and Madell, a 20-year CTW vet, will report to CTW prexy/CEO-elect and exec VP of operations Gary Knell.
