NEW YORK — The William Morris Agency, which has been on a recent signing binge, has brought Billy Crystal into their percentery fold.
Crystal, who had been repped by CAA, was signed Monday by Jim Wiatt, John Burnham and David Wirtschafter. He becomes the first major actor to join the agency since Wiatt and Wirtschafter came aboard from ICM.
Crystal continues to be managed by Brezner, Steinberg and Tennenbaum.
Crystal enjoyed a renaissance earlier this year with the success of the Warner Bros./Village Roadshow Pictures release “Analyze This.” Pic was Crystal’s most successful outing since “City Slickers,” grossing nearly $107 domestically and $200 million worldwide.
Crystal has also been a consistent Oscarcast favorite, emceeing the awards six times in the last nine years. He bowed out this past year and was replaced by Whoopi Goldberg.
While it’s considered likely he’ll be asked, it’s unclear yet whether Crystal will return for next March’s broadcast.
