Debra Brause has been upped to director of comedy programming at Studios USA Television. Paul Dahmen will fill her shoes as manager of the laffer division.
Brause and Dahmen will work closely with department senior VP Marcy Ross in the development of Studios USA’s comedy slate. First project out of the blocks for the team will be “Brown Parcels of Land,” a completed pilot for the USA Network.
“I have no doubt that both Debbie and Paul will be tremendously effective in their new positions,” said Studios USA Television programming prexy David Kissinger.
Prior to joining Studios USA in Feb. 1998, Brause worked as a researcher on A&E’s “Biography.” She has also held down various assistant posts at Fox Broadcasting and ABC News.
Dahmen, most recently exec assistant to Kissinger, has also served as an exec assistant at Twentieth Century Fox and worked as a casting consultant at Buena Vista Television.
