Emmy-winning “NYPD Blue” casting director Donna Ekholdt has been tapped VP of talent development and casting at Big Ticket Television, a production company owned by Paramount-Viacom.

Ekholdt will scope out fresh thesps for Big Ticket’s slate of network and syndie programming, which includes the strips “Judge Judy” and “Judge Joe Brown”; UPN series “Moesha” and “The Parkers”; and the upcoming Fox midseason laffer “Gary and Mike.”

“Donna has proven herself as one of the top casting directors in the industry, said Big Ticket exec VP Bill Sanders. “She will play a pivotal role in identifying, attracting and introducing talent to Big Ticket Television’s expanding slate of quality television programming.”

Ekholdt worked for three years as director of casting at Twentieth Century Fox TV, supervising casting on the series “Dharma & Greg,” “Family Guy,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Ally McBeal,” “The Practice,” “Chicago Hope” and “King of the Hill.”

Ekholdt serves as an Academy of Television Arts & Sciences governor and is treasurer of the Casting Society of America.
