Artisan Entertainment has named Patrick Gunn senior VP. He will work closely with prexy Amir Malin as Artisan expands its television, Internet and merchandising sides.
Gunn, who will also work closely with CEO Mark Curcio out of Artisan’s Gotham office, had been VP of acquisitions, production and ancillary distribution at USA Films, where he headed the company’s genre label, Rogue Pictures.
“Patrick is probably one of the best young executives I’ve met in the entertainment business,” Malin told Daily Variety.
“I am very excited about joining the Artisan team,” said Gunn. “They are a dynamic, innovative company in a great position to be a leader.”
Artisan’s upcoming releases include ‘Stir of Echoes,” “Felicia’s Journey,” “The Limey” and “The Ninth Gate.” The company also plans to re-release “The Blair Witch Project” this Halloween, and its sequel on Halloween next year.
Prior to USA, Gunn was director of business affairs at October Films, which subsequently became part of the USA family.
