ABC ups Nissenblatt to b’cast VP

Exec to o'see strategy, buys

ABC Inc. has promoted Michael Nissenblatt to VP of broadcasting.

In his new job, Nissenblatt will be involved with issues regarding digital strategy and station acquisitions, as well as networks and owned-station strategies.

He will report to Robert F. Callahan, president of broadcasting for ABC.

The New York-based Nissenblatt has been VP of affiliate research and development for ABC since 1992. He has been with ABC since ’84, when he joined the company as senior analyst in the network research department.

Separately, word of staff cuts continues to dribble out of ABC’s West Coast entertainment arm, as the Alphabet division undertakes its merger with Disney’s TV production unit. Donna Rosenstein, ABC’s senior veep of casting, is among the high-ranking execs to be pink-slipped as a result of the consolidation.
