ABC discovering Moseley

Cable vet segues to marketing

ABC is in final negotiations with veteran cable exec Chris Moseley for a senior marketing and branding position in which he will report directly to Alphabet web prexy Pat Fili-Krushel.

Assuming she reaches an agreement with ABC, Moseley is expected to join the broadcast network by October. She is currently senior VP, advertising and promotion, for cabler Discovery U.S.

ABC has been looking to bring in a new senior marketing executive to take over some of the duties now handled by ABC exec VP of marketing Alan Cohen. He is moving to the Alphabet web’s West Coast offices to oversee an expanded on-air promotion effort (Daily Variety, July 28).

In her current position at Bethesda, Md.-based Discovery, Moseley directs consumer marketing for some of the most well regarded brands in television, including the Discovery Channel and TLC (the Learning Channel).

Branded many a channel

Moseley has overseen the brand positioning of Animal Planet, the Travel Channel, Discovery Health Media and eight recently launched digital cable channels.

In the past nine years at Discovery, Moseley managed the marketing and communications launches of 39 products, including Discovery Channel Online, Discovery Channel Stores and six international versions of the Discovery Channel.
