Protter to senior veep, Sanders to affil relations manager

In a restructuring of affiliate relations, the WB television network has upped Hal Protter to senior VP, head of affiliate relations, and named Jenny Sanders manager of affiliate relations.

Among the first execs hired by WB chief Jamie Kellner in April 1994, Protter was previously VP in charge of affiliate relations. In his new role, he is charged with developing new affiliates for the WB and building on the successes of current stations. He will continue reporting to Ken Werner, exec VP of distribution.

Sanders most recently served as contract administrator for the WB since 1993. In her new position, she will advise affiliates on clearances and preemptions, while also working with Protter on the development of further distribution for the WB.

Before joining the WB, Protter served as senior VP and general manager for KPLR-TV St. Louis. The original builder and owner of WNOL-TV New Orleans, he has led such stations as KPTM-TV Omaha, WVTV-TV Milwaukee and WXIX-TV Cincinnati.
