Trio signs on for ‘Fox Files’

B'caster off beaten path with newsmag staffer list

NEW YORK — Fox Broadcasting Co.’s summer newsmag series is headed off the beaten path with a staff list highlighted by several unconventional contributors.

Set to premiere as a series of specials July 16 at 9 p.m., the series — dubbed “Fox Files” — will feature regular reports from political offspring Chris Cuomo, women’s issues specialist Amy Holmes and Internet gossipmonger Matt Drudge, the network announced Wednesday.

Cuomo and Holmes will work on news and feature stories, while Drudge will deliver a weekly commentary. Fox News correspondents Eric Shawn and Catherine Herridge have also been tapped as regular contributors.

Cuomo, the youngest son of former N.Y. Gov. Mario Cuomo, is a political contributor to Fox News Channel. Drudge has found fame with his Web site and last week launched a weekly chatfest on Fox’s all-news channel.

The Fox newsmag will be anchored by Catherine Crier and Jon Scott, with Fox News chairman-CEO Roger Ailes serving as executive producer.
