Touchstone TV pacts Corrao

Former Fox veep takes non-writing producer role

Touchstone TV has signed an exclusive overall deal with former Fox comedy vice president Lauren Corrao.

Corrao recently ankled her post at Fox, where she helped develop upcoming sitcoms such as “Costello,” “Feeling All Right” and “Living in Captivity.” Fox has not yet named her replacement (Daily Variety, June 11).

At Touchstone, Corrao will function as a nonwriting producer, developing comedies for the studios. She’s expected to work closely with Touchstone’s stable of TV writers, partnering primarily with Peter Tolan on various projects.

The other writers she may work with include Phil Rosenthal, Suzanne Martin, Dave Mandel, Lona Williams, Tim Doyle, Jeff Lowell, Susan Estelle Jansen and Adam Resnick. Corrao’s deal, which lasts for more than two years, was announced by Lloyd Braun, chairman of Buena Vista TV Prods.

Prior to working in Fox’s comedy department, she was veepee of alternative and latenight programming, where she helped develop “King of the Hill” and “Mad TV.” She also worked for MTV as VP of series development.
