Sharon Lee Kaiser

Sharon Lee Kaiser, a former Mickey Mouse Club Mouseketeer, died Jan. 6 of cancer at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. She was 56.

Born Sharon Lee Paiva in 1941, Kaiser grew up in Lakewood. Her path to fame was paved by her mother, who answered a casting call for Disney’s “The Mickey Mouse Club.”

She bested hundreds of kids for a slot and became one of 39 Mouseketeers who appeared on the show between 1955 and 1959.

Relatives told the Press-Telegram of Long Beach that she spent the last 10 or 12 years painting and pursuing other projects.

Kaiser is survived by her second husband, Carl Kaiser, a son, a sister and two brothers. Her daughter Melody preceded her in death.
