Martin will pull ‘ER’ duty

'Life Goes On' star taking turn as med student

Actress Kellie Martin, who starred in ABC’s “Life Goes On” and the CBS drama “Christy,” will join the cast of TV’s top-rated series, “ER,” this fall.

Martin, 22, will play a third-year med student on the fast-paced NBC medical drama. Martin is best known for her childhood role as Becca Thatcher on “Life Goes On,” which earned her an Emmy nomination for best supporting actress.

She also starred in the NBC series “Crisis Center” and a slew of telefilms, such as NBC’s “Blue Heaven,” ABC’s “Breaking Free,” NBC’s “Her Last Chance” and Lifetime’s “Hidden in Silence.”

Her other series and film credits include “SeaQuest DSV,” “thirtysomething,” “Montana Crossroads,” “A Goofy Movie,” “Matinee,” “Troop Beverly Hills” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash.”

“Kellie is a very experienced young actor who we’ve had out eye on for some time,” said “ER” executive producer Lydia Woodward. “We’re thrilled to have her join the cast.”

Martin is repped by Lorri Bartlett at the Gersh Agency.
