Lunden near syndie deal with Telepictures

Ex-chatshow host may jump back in TV pool

Former “Good Morning America” co-host Joan Lunden is said to be close to inking a syndie TV deal with Warner Bros.’ Telepictures Prods.

Details of the pact were sketchy, and reps for WB and Lunden could not be reached late Wednesday for comment. Lunden is understood to have been weighing various TV offers since departing from ABC’s ayem show last September after 17 years as co-host.

Telepictures is known for its success in the daytime talkshow field, with a current roster that includes “The Jenny Jones Show” and “The Rosie O’Donnell Show.”

Still, it’s unclear if Lunden is looking to try her hand at another traditional talkshow. Lunden fronted the Paramount-distributed syndie strip “Everyday with Joan Lunden” from 1989-90.
