KCBS-TV is going into “Debt.”
The CBS O&O is yanking the already canceled “Geraldo Rivera” talkshow from its weekday 3 p.m. slot as of today to make room for off-cable episodes of the Wink Martindale-hosted gameshow at 3:30 p.m. Leading into Buena Vista TV’s “Debt” at 3 p.m. will be a second episode of “Martha Stewart Living,” which also airs at 2 p.m.
“Debt,” produced by Disney’s Buena Vista TV, gives contestants a chance to wipe out their personal red ink by competing in a quizshow format. The series bowed on Lifetime Television in 1996. BVTV is testing the waters for a syndie launch by offering the show free to broadcast stations for limited runs in a handful of major markets.
Airing at 1 p.m. on Fox affil KTVU San Francisco, “Debt” has averaged a 1.8 household rating and 5 share over the past six weeks, which is on par with its February timeslot average, but down 45% from its average lead-in rating of 3.3. KCBS is expected to carry “Debt” through the end of June.
