Fox Kids sked spud skein

'Mr. Potato Head Show' to bow Saturday a.m.

Film Roman has inked a deal with Claster Television to produce “The Mr. Potato Head Show” for the Fox Kids Network.

Fox has ordered 13 episodes of the series for its fall Saturday morning sked. Series is described as a blend of computer-generated animation, puppetry and live-action. The bespectacled spud stud will play a network TV star on the tongue-in-cheek show.

Film Roman’s Andi Copley will serve as exec producer, with Doug Langdale (“Earthworm Jim,” “Pinky & the Brain”) serving as story editor and writer. Puppets will be designed by Chiodo Brothers Prods., of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” fame.

Film Roman will handle international sales of the series. Claster Television controls the rights to the enduring Mr. Potato Head character through its parent company, toy giant Hasbro.
