Granada to develop telefilm on late folk singer, actor

Granada Entertainment USA is developing a telefilm based on the life of folksy singer-actor John Denver, who died in a plane crash last October.

Granada has optioned rights to Denver’s autobiography, “Take Me Home,” as well as other material from his first wife, Annie Martell Denver, his children and longtime business associates Milt Okun and Hal Thau. Vidpic will include generous samplings of hits and lesser-known songs.

Denver died at age 53.
