Hot on the heels of the Monday premiere of its “54,” Miramax kept the ball rolling Tuesday with the preem of John Dahl’s “Rounders,” which offers a glimpse into the underworld of professional card sharks.
Preemgoers watched at the Showcase La Brea Theater, south of Melrose. Screening drew pic’s co-stars Edward Norton, Gretchen Mol and Martin Landau (Matt Damon did not attend), helmer Dahl, writing team David Levien and Brian Koppelman and producers Ted Demme and Joel Stillerman as well as support from Benecio del Toro, Ben Stiller, Swoosie Kurtz, Alexis Arquette, Michael Keaton, Penny Marshall, Martin Sheen, Robert Forster and Gina Gershon.
Post-party shifted to Barnaby’s on Fairfax. Songsters Adam Duritz (whose Counting Crows contributed to pic’s soundtrack), LL Cool J and Jakob Dylan rounded out the crowd, along with Jon Favreau, Josh Brolin and Henry Thomas.
