Country music group Alabama will perform a marathon pay-per-view concert that will emanate from the Showroom of the Las Vegas Hilton.
“Alabama: For the Record” is being billed as a marathon concert because the band will perform all 41 of its No. 1 hits. It will be televised Oct. 10 and is expected to run more than four hours.
The concert, which was an instant sellout when announced last month, will be available to consumers nationwide by Spring Communications via local cable and satellite companies throughout the U.S.
Avalon Entertainment Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of TBA Entertainment Corp., will produce the event. Exec producers include RCA Records Nashville chief Joe Galante, Dale Morris and Marc Oswald.
“This is truly a marathon concert,” said Randy Owen of Alabama. “And on behalf of the entire group, we are excited and honored to have the opportunity to share these favorites with the fans who made them No. 1.”
The PPV show will complement the release of the band’s 41st album, a two-CD set that hit stores Aug. 25 and sold more than 71,000 copies in its first week of release (Daily Variety, Sept. 3).
Beginning Oct. 9, fans may also log on to http://www.alabama41.com for a unique live pre-concert Webcast featuring behind-the-scenes action and special interviews counting down to the pay-per-view concert.
The concert will also be available to fans Stateside via a live FM radio simulcast by MediAmerica.
