‘Wirey’ world for Schaeffer

He'll star in low-budget comedy

CANNES — Eric Schaeffer, writer-director of indie pics “If Lucy Fell” and “Fall,” will write, direct and star in the comedy “Wirey Spindell.”

Low-budget pic, which is being produced by Schaeffer regular Terence Michael, begins shooting later this month in New York.

The film recounts in flashback the life of Wirey Spokes Spindell, a middle-aged man who is about to get married but can’t stop reflecting on his youth. Pic will co-star Eric Maybius.

Script for “Wirey” is actually based on a novel Schaeffer wrote 10 years ago.

Producing with Michael are Lloyd Segan (“Blown Away”) and Gotham-based indie producer Dolly Hall (“The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love”).

Brothers Bruce and Van Greenfield are exec producing.

Schaeffer is repped by Writers & Artists’ Jim Stein.
