CANNES — France’s hip clothes company Agnes B has backed dozens of shorts and short features — not to mention shirts, pants and jackets — and now will launch its own film production label, Paris-based Love Streams. The new venture has partnered with well-respected French producer Haut et Court on Emilie Deleuze’s debut pic “I Had a Dream,” which started shooting in April.
Company sources say that any involvement by the firm’s founder, Agnes B, in films in the past were always as a philanthropic gesture, with no financial returns expected.
Now she’s looking to get a return on investment and has set up Love Streams to coordinate film co-production.
Love Streams currently has around 20 film projects on its desk, although by no means will all get investment from the new shingle.
