Judd named presenter at 70th Oscars

Ashley Judd will present the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences’ Scientific and Technical Achievement Awards Feb. 28, at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

Portions of this year’s sci-tech awards — including the presentation of Oscar statuettes to Gunnar P. Michelson and Don Iwerks — will be taped for inclusion in the 70th Academy Awards broadcast.

Judd (“Kiss the Girls,” “The Locusts,” “A Time to Kill”) will make her first appearance as an presenter at the March 23 Oscarcast to introduce the sci-tech awards segment.

The Oscars will be broadcast live by ABC, beginning at 6 p.m. (PST).
