Dean Wright, a visual effects producer for more than a decade, has signed on as director of production at Dream Quest Images, the Disney-owned feature film visual f/x studio.
In the post, Wright will work alongside DQI vice prexy and general manager Andrew Millstein in the production and bidding of feature film effects. He’ll also oversee the firm’s engineering, stage, model shop and editorial operations, as well as its pre-visualization and art departments.
Wright, who spent the last two years as a staff producer and production manager at Digital Domain f/x house, has worked on such films as “Titanic,” the upcoming “What Dreams May Come” and “Supernova.” His other f/x credits include “Scream,” “Terminator 2” and “Jake’s Women.”
Dream Quest, which provides a range of effects, from computer-generated effects and character animation to miniature design, is currently in production on several films, including “Armageddon,” “Mighty Joe Young” and “Inspector Gadget.”
