In its big-budget actioner mode, Warner Bros. has nabbed Haven Turleygood’s pitch “The Brig” for Louis Morneau to direct and Joel Silver to produce, sources said Wednesday.
Details were sketchy on the logline, but pic was loosely described as a ” ‘Dirty Dozen’ meets ‘Die Hard’ on a tropical island military installation.”
WB is keen on the project as a tentpole actioner in the $100 million budget area, insiders said. The U.S. Dept. of Defense is expected to participate, which would lower the budget.
Pitch was based on an idea that Morneau developed with Turleygood.
Silver exec Jennifer Gwartz will oversee the project for the production company.
Warner VP Lionel Wigram is handling the studio interest.
Endeavor brokered the deal for both Morneau and Turleygood. Manager Audrey Kelly also repped Turleygood.
